New Brews from Logsdon Farmhouse Ales

There was a time when we could only get Logsdon's beers by smuggling bottles of Seizoen and Seizoen Bretta back from Portland in our luggage. And we were happy to do it! When they were introduced, these were some of the first beers that made us believe that American saison could be as good as the "real" stuff from Belgium.

Since then, Logsdon has grown and developed into an adventurous, well-rounded brewery (that you can buy in California!), releasing world class Americanized riffs on classic European styles and playing with ingredients like Szechuan peppercorns and amazing Oregon-grown fruit.

While they've certainly become more experimental over the years, they've never been a brewery known for having an aggressive new beer release schedule, so we are in a rare and very fortunate position to have received several exciting new Logsdon beers that are available now. Check it out!

Now available:

Abscisson
Abscission is a limited-edition auburn mixed-culture saison (seizoen?) built for cold-weather drinking. It's gently tart and has layers of malty complexity from the wheat, caramel, chocolate, and Vienna malts used in its production.
Now available in 30L kegs.

Deep River Blues
The newest addition to Logsdon's spectacular lineup of sour ales is Deep River Blues, a tart, gently funky saison made with loads of blueberries. Earthy, fruity, and rife with berry personality.
Now available in 750ml bottles while supplies last.

Krieke Vier
Krieke Vier is a powerful exploration of what can be done with barrels, cherries, Lactobacillus, Brettanomyces, and Belgian yeast strains. The beer starts life as a Belgian quadrupel, fermented with eight different yeast and bacteria strains. It's then aged on cherries for four months in used bourbon barrels. The result is a bold, deeply complex sour ale with loads of character.

Table Bretta
Table Bretta offers all the delightful rustic yeast character you love from Logsdon's modern classic Seizoen Bretta, in a lighter package. A sessionable variant built for satisfying crushability.

Seven Years Blonde
Seven Years Blonde is a Calypso dry-hopped blonde ale named in reference to Odysseus' seven year imprisonment by the siren, Calypso. The beer beautifully marries the hop's bright aromatics with the fruity estery character of the yeast used to ferment the beer to create a lively, satisfying Belgo-American invention.
